Video demonstration of the ultra-rare 1979 MusicAid/Simmons SDS-IV drum synthesizer (also called the SDS Combo, according to Alex Graham's book, "The Complete Simmons Drum Guide"). The SDS-III and the SDS-IV were predecessors to the truly iconic Simmons SDS-V, which is the most recognisable drum synth of the 1980's. According to https://simmonsmuseum.com/?, an estimated 500 SDS-IVs were produced by Dave Simmons by hand, and we were fortunate enough to come into possession of one recently.
