Pre-Introduction

We set up Iconic with the goal of faithfully capturing some of the most historically significant instruments of the 20th century and turning them into dynamic and unique software instruments.

Whilst working as an engineer at the world-renowned Clinton Recording Studios, I had the chance to work with many truly iconic instruments and recording equipment. We inherited some amazing gear from the historic CBS 30th Street Studio – where Miles Davis recorded ‘Kind of Blue’ and Frank Sinatra did ‘New York, New York’ – and I began creating sample libraries to capture and preserve these historic pieces.

Fast forward to the present, and at Iconic Instruments we pride ourselves on making flexible virtual instruments full of era-specific sonic character. We’re looking forward to digging into the decades and bringing you as many iconic instruments as you can handle, so stay tuned!
